Synopsis: The video portrays a student spiraling into a breakdown due to overwhelming academic pressure. It illustrates their mental state shifting between home and school, with the weight of their work constantly following them. Gradually, the pressure intensifies, symbolized by white drawings that represent negative thoughts and emotions. The two silhouettes embody the people in the student's life, friends, family, or teachers and highlight how even well meaning figures can inadvertently contribute to the student’s struggles. In the end, the overwhelming burden consumes the student, as they succumb to their negative emotions and break down entirely.
Description:This project was developed for a contemporary arts class, but due to the large number of contributors, much of the work was spread thin. Since the group scheduled filming on a weekend when I couldn't participate, I focused on being the primary creator and developer of the concept and storyline for the performance art piece. Additionally, I prepared all the written and storyboard pre-production materials for my colleagues to build upon and bring the project to life. In the end, I was pleased with the final product. It was a new experience to see an idea I had envisioned being realized by others. Among the different elements, the projection aspect remains my favorite part of the piece.
